Why Linens and Lids?

In case you're wondering - and I'm sure you are! - I call this blog Linens & Lids & More because I have developed a reputation for having quite a collection of vintage linens, as well as a huge basket of lids of all kinds. If your dish is missing the lid, I may very well have one that will fit!

I am drawn to vintage linens, and I have purchased hundreds of pieces, carefully washed, dried, starched and pressed them, and offered them a second life in someone else's home. I keep dozens of tablecloths, napkins, table runners, and more in my closet and offer what I cannot use for sale in my shop on Etsy.

A few years ago, I purchased a large lot of glassware at an auction that contained several assorted lids. I cleaned each one and placed them in a basket in my booth at an antiques store, and they sold like hotcakes! Now I actually look for old lids at estate sales and auctions, and I keep a nice assortment on hand. If you need a lid, I may have one for sale!
